Bank robbers, numbering not less than 15, in the wee hours of Thursday stormed a new generation bank on College Road, Ogba area of Lagos State.
The robbers killed two policemen and wounded three others.
Customers were turned away from the branch in the morning.
They were told to make use of other branches.
The robbers, who engaged the police in a shootout that lasted over an hour, succeeded in taking away yet to be disclosed amount of money.
They stormed the bank at about 3:30am.
Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the development.
Braide would, however, not comment on the killing or otherwise of the policemen.
