The Special Adviser to the Governor of Osun State on Information and Strategy, Semiu Okanlawon, said his boss, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has exceeded all expectations in his performance as the governor of the state in less than eight years.
Okanlawon gave this remark in Iwo on Tuesday while addressing some loyalists of the All Progressives Congress across Isale Oba area of Iwo East Local Council Development Area.
He explained that Aregbesola, given the paucity of funds, has performed beyond what people expected.
Listing government’s achievement so far in the areas of school feeding programme, youth employment initiatives, school uniform, security and massive infrastructure provision, Okanlawon said Aregbesola’s legacies have placed him solidly as the father of the modern day Osun State.
Okanlawon said it was germane for party members to continue to mobilize themselves through their regular meetings so as to be ever ready for electoral processes coming this year.
He expressed the confidence that Aregbesola has performed so well that the people of the state would look unto him to scout for and support a credible, focused member who has imbibed the development zeal of the governor.
He said: “Continuity has helped a state like Lagos to achieve its present status.
“Lagos has an unbroken 19 years of the hold of one political tendency.
“We can all see the result in Lagos with the rapid and massive transformation of the state.
“I am confident this is what the people of Osun want.”
In his remarks, Alhaji Semiu Ayofe, the APC Party Chairman in Iwo Local Government, commended Okanlawon for his steadfastness, adding that but for his sense of fairness, equity and progress of the party, many party loyalists would have become demoralized.
The party chairman restated his commitment towards the success of the Aregbesola administration, adding that he would do everything within his capacity to support the emergence of a good successor that will continue the Aregbesola Dream.
