The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has promised the state’s contingent to the ongoing 18th National Sports Festival, tagged Eko 2012, a rosy Christmas package should they top the medals table.
And the athletes appear just bent on topping the medals table to get the promised package as Delta State stayed on top as at close of proceedings on Monday.
Uduaghan made the promise when he visited the camp of Team Delta at the University of Lagos over the weekend.
He said: “As you compete, whether at medals level or not, put in your best as if a gold medal was at stake.
“You do not have to be slack at any point in time.”
