The President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has congratulated the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Waheed Odusile, on his election as the President of the Federation of African Journalists.
Saraki, in a letter of congratulations signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja, said the FAJ platform, which is the African regional association of the International Federation of Journalists, has provided Odusile another “opportunity to once again demonstrate on the continental plane the leadership abilities and qualities with which you have successfully directed the affairs of the national body”.
The letter reads in part: “The President of the Senate has no doubt that your tenure will record more successes for the FAJ in the attainment of its objectives and mandate which among others is to improve the social and professional rights of its members and to enforce trade union development in the media industry in Africa.”
