- Pop star, Dare Art-Alade (Darey); US music star, Ciara; and other Nigerian stars dazzled at the “Love Like a Movie” music show held at the Eko Hotel and Suites on Sunday night in Lagos.
The show, organised by Darey, was in its third edition and featured spectacular musical performances, choreography, comedy and drama nonstop from about 8:30pm into the early hours of Sunday morning.
Ciara, who was the main attraction at the show, belted out track after track of her collection of songs and together with her two dancers, literarily set the stage on fire.
The highlight of her performance, however, was when she requested that award winning dancer, Kaffy, teach her some Nigerian dance steps, which really delighted the audience.
Darey’s performance was segmented but excellent at every point as he, with all kinds of dancers and choreographers, took the audience through some of his most popular songs.
Some of the other artists who performed at the show were Zaina, Sammy, Tolu, Sound Sultan, Ruby Gyang, Olamide, Yemi Alade, Adekunle Gold, Simi, Blackky, Weird MC, Jazzman Olofin and Styl-Plus.
There was a tribute performance to some of the late stars anchored by rapper, Vector, but after a good performance, he ended on a low note when he mistook veteran actor, Pete Edochie, for the late Pete Eneh.
Internet comedy star, Kenny Black, gave a good account of himself with a music-comedy session, which the audience enjoyed a lot, and a couple of Michael Jackson impersonators also thrilled.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that two previous editions of the “Love Like a Movie” show have held at the Eko Hotel with US socialite, Kim Kardashian, the main attraction in 2013.
