The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 65-year-old man, Louis Alosuposo, for allegedly defiling two minors.
So also has the Command nabbed three teenage secondary school students for allegedly raping a female colleague.
A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said Alosuposo had carnal knowledge of two minors between ages eight and 10.
Oyeyemi said he committed the crime in Ayetoro area of the state.
He said the mother of one of the little girls reported the matter to the police after she noticed her daughter’s strange behaviour.
Oyeyemi said: “The suspect was arrested following a complaint from her mother, who lodged a complaint at Ayetoro Division. The complainant, who claimed to have noticed a strange behaviour from her daughter, which made her to interrogate the girl very well, discovered that the suspect had had carnal knowledge of her daughter.
“Upon complaint, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ayetoro Division, a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mr. Makinde Kayode, led a team of policemen to effect the arrest of the suspect. Further investigation later revealed that the suspect had done it to another minor, who is eight years old. The two victims were lured into his apartment where he carried out the dastardly act.”
Alosuposo was said to have confessed to the crime.
Oyeyemi said the minors have been taken to Ayetoro General Hospital for treatment.
He said the three teenagers arrested for rape are students of Ajagbe High School, Iperu-Remo.
He gave the names of the suspects as Uloko Austin, Adekunle Quadri and Orenuga Aliu.
He said their arrest followed a report by the father of the victim, one Salau of 16, Ogunfowora Street, Iperu-Remo, who complained that his daughter was dragged into the bush and raped.
Oyeyemi said: “The DPO Iperu Division, CSP Bernard Ediagbonya, led his men to the forest where the suspects were arrested. Investigation revealed that they belong to a secret cult known as Ajagbe youngest nation.”
He said the two cases have been transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
