Angry fans at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Sunday booed the Shooting Stars Sports Club for failing to impress in their one-all draw against Rangers of Enugu in a Week 9 tie of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The Oluyole Warlord’s fans trouped out en masse went back home with their faces turned down as the former League champions failed to grab the match winner for the entire duration of the tie.
In the early stage of the encounter, it was the Flying Antelopes that were asking questions and making several attempts at goal through Odah Onoriode, who later broke his waist in the process.
Rangers’ Osas Okoro fired a close range shot but he effort was denied by 3SC’s goalie, Abiodun Akande.
Rangers pressed on in search of the opener but their efforts was crowned when goalkeeper Akande fumbled a cross for Edwin Aguda to tap in in the 25th minute.
Not impressed by Frankly Howard’s lads display, the cheering home fans made a quick U-turn as they began to boo their boys.
In the 39th minute of the encounter, 3SC leveled up via a penalty following an infringement by Rangers shot stopper, Daniel Emma. Tope Orelope stepped forward to convert the spot kick.
Rangers’ Bobby Clement was sent off in the 45 minute following a rough tackle on Afolabi Okiki.
Both sides attempt to nick in the winner yielded no fruit as the game ended one goal apiece.
