The National Primary Health Care Development Agency has donated 20 tricycles to polio survivors in Katsina State, the state Commissioner for Health, Alhaji Husaini Garba, has said.
Garba said in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria in Katsina, Katsina State that the gesture would complement the state government’s efforts towards improving the welfare of victims of polio.
He said that the tricycles had been distributed to the beneficiaries and commended the Agency for its support to the state.
The commissioner said that the Agency plans to provide similar assistance to other victims of the disease in all the local government areas of the state.
Garba said the state government had initiated various skill acquisition programmes for the survivors to make them self-reliant
He appealed to parents to ensure that their children were immunised against the six childhood killer diseases, adding that the next round of polio immunisation in the state would come up in September.
