It is the turn of students and staff of the University of Benin to experience Globacom’s entertainment package of music, fun and gaiety specially designed for Nigerian tertiary institutions, the Glo Campus Storm.
Globacom, the grandmasters of data, announced in Lagos on Wednesday that the concert would take place at the In-Door Sports Complex of the University of Benin.
It is scheduled for December 8.
The company said that the duo of Timaya, the Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa, and Chinedu Okoli, aka Flavour, the Nabania exponent, will headline the show to deliver an electrifying evening of unlimited entertainment.
It added that Timaya and Flavour would be joined by humour merchant, Bovi, who will anchor the show, while one of Africa’s most dexterous disc jockeys, DJ Neptune, will man the “wheel of steel”.
“We are delighted with the wide acceptability the Glo Campus Storm concert has gained across tertiary institutions in the country since this phase started nine weeks ago. From the University of Port Harcourt to University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus; through Federal Polytechnic Nekede; University of Uyo; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, to Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, the feedback has been that of great excitement and desire for more by the students and other fun lovers in the visited institutions and their environs,” the statement added.
Globacom assured that the UNIBEN edition of the concert would be rewarding, adding: “All the side attractions that have made the Glo campus Storm the darling of Nigerian students will be available on Thursday in UNIBEN. The show will be an unforgettable experience for all fun lovers on the campus.”
As part of the activities lined up for the UNIBEN concert, 10 students of the university, comprising five males and five females, will stand the chance of winning up to N100,000 in the Glo Campus Data Dude and the Glo Campus Data Diva competitions slated for the night of fun and entertainment.
Also, during the concert, up and coming artistes among the students will be given the opportunity to entertain their fans on the campus, just as there will be dancing and singing competitions.
Globacom encouraged students and members of the UNIBEN community willing to be part of the concert to recharge their Glo SIM cards with Glo Campus Data Plan worth N500.
