Videos as Lagos workers scramble, fight over Sanwo-Olu’s rice

It was a show of shame as civil servants in the employ of the Lagos State Government fought over the rice donated to them by the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The rice was brought in trucks to the venue of a meeting Sanwo-Olu had with the civil servants on Thursday at the Adeyemi Bero Hall in Alausa, the seat of the Lagos State Government.
At the meeting, Sanwo-Olu pledged that the welfare of the workers will be a priority of his administration, if elected, promising that he would run a listening government to which every worker will have access.
The governorship candidate, who was accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, described the meeting as “a homecoming”.
He said they were moved to tears seeing the crowd of civil servants who welcomed them. Both Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat served as Commissioners in the state.
After the meeting, the trucks that conveyed the rice was opened for distribution, with the civil servants battling themselves to have access to it.
Some resorted to physical confrontation in the process.
