The League of Veteran Journalists in Oyo State has congratulated all Muslim faithful in the state in particular and Nigeria in general for the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan, hijira 1437.
In an Eid-el-Filtri message signed by the Publicity secretary of the League, Wale Adele, he said it was a thing of joy for the veteran journalists that the Muslim faithful in the state kept fate with the spirit of the Holy month and urged them to continue to live in tandem with the teachings of the Holy Qu’ran, even beyond Ramadan.
Adele also enjoined all Nigerians to follow the tenet of the Holy month in their relationship with their fellow brothers and sisters beyond the time of Ramadan.
The veteran journalists said Nigeria and Nigerians are passing through a period of socio-economic rebirth, which required sacrifice and perseverance, adding that the present hardship may not necessarily be blamed on the present government as many things had gone wrong in the past without anybody looking for solution.
The veteran journalists also used the occasion of the Holy Month to appeal to the Oyo State Government and the leadership of the organised labour to come to a round table to find an amicable solution to the on going industrial crisis in the state.
The statement observed that the crisis had taken too long and prayed that the two sides will see reason to jaw-jaw and stop the war-war which had never solved any problem in human history.
The veteran journalists, therefore prayed for continued peace to reign in the state and the country at large.
