An unidentified man has been electrocuted in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Police have said.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the incident was suspected to have occurred on Thursday as the victim was found dead on Friday morning.
The Spokesman of the Police Command in the state, Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse on Tuesday.
Jinjiri said that the man was found electrocuted in a transformer close to the Jigawa State Polytechnic, Dutse, along Sani Abacha way.
He said that two hammers, arch saw and a jean were recovered at the scene.
He said the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the Federal University Dutse Teaching Hospital, Dutse.
According to him, the victim had yet to be identified as no any means of identification was found on him.
Jinjiri said that the corpse would be buried as soon as detailed investigation into the incident was concluded.
He, however, said the that body could be exhumed for further investigation, “if necessary”.
