Tyson Fury has sensationally suggested he will walk away from boxing after his fight with British rival Dillian Whyte.
“This is the final fight of my career, I’m retiring after this,” Fury said speaking at the first press conference for his upcoming bout against Whyte.
“$150million in the bank, healthy, young, I’m gonna buy a massive yacht abroad. I’m retiring, I’m out, this is my final fight, I’m done.”
The 33-year-old is taking on Whyte at Wembley on 23 April, and fans are desperate to see him face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua in a winner-take-all title unification bout afterwards.
But it looks as if the Gypsy King will be calling it a day before there’s any chance of that.
However, it isn’t the first time Fury has claimed to be hanging up his gloves and fans around the world will hope this is just another one of the heavyweight champion’s mind-games.
Fury claimed he would retire after beating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, only to sensationally return to boxing three years later in one of the sport’s great comeback stories.
He’s now arguably at the top of his game after overcoming Deontay Wilder in one of the most entertaining trilogy fights in boxing history.
Following a controversial draw in their first fight in 2018, Fury beat Wilder twice to win, and subsequently retain, the WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles.
Fury has won 31 of his 32 professional fights, with 22 wins coming via knockout.
Following his victory over Wilder in their trilogy fight in October, boxing fans around the world began labelling the Gypsy King as one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Last month, the Morecombe-born slugger launched a new range of energy drinks named Furocity Energy, to rival market leaders Red Bull and Monster Energy.
