Tyson Fury appoints new trainer

Tyson Fury has confirmed he will be working with Emanuel Steward’s nephew after splitting from Ben Davison. The heavyweight fighter confirmed the news on Sunday.
Fury had spent the past year-and-a-half working with Davison.
The Gypsy King teamed up with the coach when he was 26-years-old, meaning he was younger than the fighter himself.
But his youth didn’t seem to affect performances in the ring, as Fury drew with Deontay Wilder in their WBC world title fight last December.
Davison was praised by boxing fans throughout the world for his work with Fury, and he was credited with helping the fighter get back into shape after his time away from the sport.
Fury lost over 100lbs after battling mental health issues prior to his return to the ring.
But now, he will go into the rematch with Wilder next February with a new head coach, after an amicable split from Davison.
Fury announced on Sunday that he had teamed up with Javan ‘Sugar’ Hill, the nephew of Emanuel Steward.
Hill is set to take Fury’s corner for next February’s rematch.
After confirming the split from Davison, Fury posted an image on Instagram of himself with Steward, Hill and Andy Lee.
He captioned the image: “Getting the old team back up and running.”
Fury previously trained with Steward earlier in his career, and helped out with sparring for Wladimir Klitschko – who was trained by Steward.
After Steward’s passing in 2012, Hill relaunched the famous Kronk Gym in Detroit.
It is currently unknown whether Fury will train at the Kronk Gym for the rematch, or if he will stay in the UK.
After the split, Davison confirmed that he would stay friends with Fury.
He posted on Twitter: “Obviously it’s not gonna stop until there’s an answer, Tyson and myself had to both make decisions for our careers, which resulted in our working relationship coming to an end.
“HOWEVER, we remain friends and he will SMASH the DOSSER!!”
