The Katsina State Police Command said on Thursday it arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly killing Alhaji Samaila Magaji, a former Chairman of Ingawa Local Government Area of the state.
Magaji was killed last week when assailants attacked him at his residence at Barhin Quarters, Katsina.
Addressing newsmen in Katsina, the Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Muhammad Hurdi, said that police investigations showed that the death of the deceased was caused by the “only suspect”.
Hurdi said that police had recovered the knife allegedly used to attack the former council chairman and his two mobile phones, allegedly kept in a secret place by the suspect.
He said that the suspect would be arraigned for homicide.
