Former Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi; and a former Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Kolapo Ishola of Oyo State, Elder Bode Oyewole, have lost out of the race for the chairmanship of the Management Board of the Shooting Stars Sports Club.
The two were the front runners for the chairmanship of the club’s management board.
In their place, a former Chairman of the club and former General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council, Toyin Akintunde, has been announced as the chairman of the 3SC’s Management Board.
The choice of Akintunde, announced this evening, came as a shock to those who have followed the process for the constitution of the board for the club.
This is because Ogunjobi and Oyewole were highly favoured for the position.
But sources said Ogunjobi lost the job because of the case brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission when he was in the NFF.
Ogunjobi, who served on the board led by Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdulai, was accused, along with others, of involvement in a N155 million fraud by the EFCC.
Also said to have affected his chances was the fact that he is not from Oyo State.
Ogunjobi is from Osun State and is still the Chairman of the Osun State Football Association.
Akintunde, a former Permanent Secretary in Oyo State, will be on the board with Taiwo Richard, Ade Somefun and Anifowoshe Kelani as members.
