Libyan coastguard has intercepted 156 migrants, including Nigerians, in two separate incidents as they tried to reach Europe by sea, the Navy said. Navy spokesman Ayoub Qasim said that Libyan coastguard stopped a rubber boat carrying 116 migrants, including five women, off the western Libyan town of Zuwara.

Authorities on Monday say eight migrants including six children were found dead, after suffocating from petrol fumes while packed into a lorry container on the west Libyan coast.
The group includes eight Pakistanis, one of whom called officials to say that smugglers were holding him in a locked room with other survivors.
The Navy spokesman, Ayob Qassem, said the reports published by international organisations about a capsizing boat with 90 illegal immigrants on board off the city of Zuwara were uncertain and questionable.
