In addition to the already constructed public toilet facilities, the State Government will be placing mobile toilets in strategic locations across the State, upgrade already existing toilet facilities to encourage patronage and partner with donors, individuals and corporate organisation in the management and maintenance of these facilities.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday in Abuja inaugurated the “Clean Nigeria: Use the Toilet Campaign”, as part of measures to end open defecation in the country.
The Commissioner for Environment, Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti, made this known during the celebration of the 2018 World Toilet Day in Lagos on Monday.
The General Manager of Osun Rural, Water and Environmental Sanitation, Alhaji Posi Adiatu, stated this at a programme to mark the World Toilet Day in Oyan, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of the state.
The Federal Government has been urged to construct decent public toilets along Abuja-Lokoja-Okene and Lokoja-Ayingba-Ankpa highways to curb open defecation by travelers and people living in communities along the routes.
It noted that with the figure, children were dangerously exposed to illnesses that could kill them.
The United Nations Children’s Fund says over 47 million Nigerians lack access to basic toilet facilities.
WaterAid Nigeria, a Non-Governmental Organisation, has said that more than 120 million Nigerians lack access to decent toilets in their homes.
The Registrar said the World Toilet Day is a day set aside by United Nations for the world to take a break and think of the essential nature of the toilet and its significance in our lives and in the protection of public health
