The National Pension Commission has approved 3, 280 applications for payment of retirement benefit under life annuity plan.
Dahir-Umar made the disclosure at the sixth conference organised for pension directors by the commission in Lagos.
According to the commission, the number brings to 48,539, the total number of retirees receiving their retirement benefits via annuity.
A statement signed by the Acting Director-General of PenCom, Aisha Dahir-Umar, in Abuja said the warning was to prevent pensioners and pension contributors from being duped.
