“And of course there are issues pertaining to the crisis in the party and we agreed that a high powered team headed by Mr. President should immediately go into massive reconciliation with major stakeholders who may have been aggrieved so that the party can even wax stronger,” he disclosed
He said the National Working Committee could not take a decision to recall him because it will be “subjudiced” since the Governor has gone to court
He said the NWC members met with President Jonathan to discuss the observation raised by the Independent National Electoral Committee (INEC) regarding the need to regularize the elections of some of the national officers
He particularly praised the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, and other members of the National Working Committee for such magnanimity
“I am not a member of the Action Congress of Nigeria but a staunch member of the Peoples Democratic Party and I am not leaving the party. But I cannot say because I am a PDP member, I will not acknowledge good performance
Tukur said the party could not resist the appeal of the PDP governors for their colleague but said the party would not condone indiscipline in any form
Buhari had at meeting of the unregistered Action People’s Congress in Kagoro, near Kafanchan, dismissed the PDP as "a colony of deceivers" and advised the people to join the APC
