The Peoples Democratic Peoples Party has rescinded the decision to suspend the Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Magatarka Wamakko.
The National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, who announced the decision of the party at its national headquarters in Abuja, said it was taken based on the appeal and intervention of the PDP Governors’ Forum, led by the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Chief Godswill Akpabio.
Tukur said the party could not resist the appeal of the PDP governors for their colleague but said the party would not condone indiscipline in any form.
He charged governors elected on the platform of the party to show more commitment to the party.
Addressing the press, Akpabio said the PDPGF had reviewed the events in the party and made a passionate appeal to its National Working Committee to rescind the decision to suspend Wamakko.
He thanked the NWC for obliging their request.
It would be recalled that the PDP had earlier suspended the Sokoto State Governor, Alhaji Wamakko for acts of indiscipline.
Other members of the Committee who met with the PDP National Working Committee included the Governor of Bauchi State, Mallam Isa Yuguda; the Governor of Abia State, Chief Theodore Orji; the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema; the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan; and the Governor of Benue State, Dr. Gabriel Suswam.
Meanwhile, the NWC also announced that the National Executive Committee meeting of the party will hold on Thursday by 12 noon
