The call was made by the Network on Police Reforms in Nigeria (NOPRIN)
Browsing: Olaitan Oyerinde
The resolution followed the adoption of the report of the committee on Public Petition on the murder of Comrade Olaitan Oyerinde, the Principal Personal Secretary to Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State
The governor appealed to the people of Edo State never to allow rascals to take over the reins of government
The altercation between the duo almost degenerated to fisticuffs but for the intervention of the Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadome, and the Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan
Adoke said going by all relevant laws, his ministry has no power to prosecute murder cases and was therefore shocked that a senior officer in the Ministry of Justice could state that the prosecution of the alleged killers could not go on because of confusion in the investigation
Oshiomhole therefore threatened to release the police report on his aide’s murder, stating that he will publish the facts in the document presented to him by the police and duly incidented by a Divisional Police Officer that his private secretary was not killed by the human rights activist, David Ugolor, whom the police arrested and detained for two months
