Baru gave the commendation in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, by the NNPC Spokesman, Ndu Ughamadu.

This followed a unanimous adoption of report of the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) on the fuel crisis in the country, at plenary.
Ughamadu stated that the NNPC Group Managing Director, Dr Maikanti Baru, made the disclosure in Abuja while inaugurating the board of one of its downstream companies, NNPC Retail limited.
Ndu Ughamadu, the corporation’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, disclosed this in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
This new encouragement was a fallout from the stakeholders’ engagement on changing Nigeria’s crude oil affreightment trade term from FOI to CIF, which was organised by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety held on Tuesday at the NNPC towers in Abuja.
A statement by the NNPC Spokesman, Ndu Ughamadu, assured motorists that the Corporation had a robust stock of Petroleum Motor Spirit, otherwise known as petrol.
Ughamadu, however, said the corporation’s Group Managing Director, Dr. Maikanti Baru, had directed that repair works be carried out immediately on the pipeline, the Escarvos to Lagos Pipeline.
The Group Managing Director of the corporation, Dr. Maikanti Baru, said this in Abuja at the 2018/2019 crude oil term contract bid opening.
It appealed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to rehabilitate all the moribund storage facilities within the depots, which make up the Western Zone to enhance effective distribution of petroleum products.
A statement in Abuja by the NNPC spokesman, Ndu Ughamadu, said gas supply to customers on the line, including power generating companies, had resumed.
Kachikwu said the price was fixed in the first quarter of 2016 when crude oil was selling for $49 and pointed out that with crude price rising to $67 a barrel, the pump price may no longer be sustainable.
Speaking at an investigative public hearing by a Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum Downstream at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja, Baru disclosed that during the period, NNPC could not track the movement of 4,501 trucks, representing the quantity of the disappeared products.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that many filling stations in the commercial city have shut down with the exception of the NNPC Mega station at Hotoro area and the few stations owned by a popular marketer, AA Rano.
Baru, who said this to newsmen after a tour of some filling stations in Abuja, added that 1,733 trucks left various depots to various destinations nationwide to ease the fuel situation.
Baru, who disclosed this to State House correspondents in Abuja on Friday, reiterated NNPC’s position to ensure the pump price of fuel was maintained at the current official price of N145 per litre.
Adewole said apart from the N600 billion the NNPC owed DAPPMA members, it also owe marketers over N800 billion.
The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru, said: “This is an effort of government to continue to identify all those who are a hindrance to the supply of petroleum products.
DAPPMA’s Executive Secretary, Olufemi Adewole, in a statement in Lagos urged the NNPC to help the Association so as to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
The Sector Commander of the FRSC in Enugu, Edward Zamber, confirmed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu.
