US President Donald Trump is accusing his former personal attorney of again lying under oath, saying Michael Cohen personally asked him for a pardon.

He was sentenced for his role in making illegal hush-money payments to women to help Trump’s 2016 election campaign and lying to Congress about a proposed Trump Tower project in Russia.
Trump said he pulled out due to tensions over Russian forces opening fire on Ukrainian navy boats and then seizing them and their crew on Sunday near Crimea, which Russia annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
The unexpected plea stemmed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s intensifying investigation into Russia’s role in the 2016 election and whether Trump’s campaign conspired with Moscow to boost his chances, and put new pressure on the president.
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s longtime lawyer and fixer, implicated his former boss as he pleaded guilty on Tuesday to eight counts, including violations of campaign finance rules during the 2016 presidential race.
