He tweeted; “I wish to express my support for Lere Olayinka for the position of National Publicity Secretary of the PDP. Lere will do an excellent job.”
Olayinka, Fayose’s Special Adviser on New Media, has shown interest in emerging as the National Publicity Secretary of the party, a position being occupied now by Olisa Metuh
Olayinka described President Muhammadu Buhari’s non-signing of any direct loan agreement with the Chinese government during his visit as a vindication of the Ekiti State Governor’s position on the issue

The governor, who maintained that President Muhammadu Buhari lacked the required mental capacity to rescue the country from the present economic problems, added that it was an insult for a Federal Government that appeared to be clueless to be preaching its unworkable policies to other tiers of government
Olayinka, who said Fayose will not dignify the former governors with any response, added: “As someone who worked diligently with Engr Segun Oni when he was governor and out of office, I know that the same way he (Oni) described Fayose as a tragedy was the way he used to tell us then that Fayemi would end up in jail. But did he not mount the rostrum to campaign for the re-election of the same Fayemi that he said would be jailed?”
Olayinka, who reacted to a statement by the APC that Fayose was not telling the truth about the financial status of the state and that the current allocation to Ekiti State was enough to pay workers’ salary, said: “In a normal clime, members of a party that ruled Ekiti for four years, borrowing billions of naira to plant flowers that were never seen, thereby plunging the State into debt would bury their heads in shame
Olayinka, who reacted to statement by the Minister that Governor Ayodele Fayose and others kicking against President Muhammadu Buhari’s Treasury Single Account policy should return to elementary school, said it was shameful that Mohammed ran away from the main issue and chose to attack personalities
The governor’s aide, who urged the APC to first remove the timber in its eyes before aspiring to remove the toothpicks in other people’s eyes, said the party should prevail on its governors in neighbouring states to pay workers that are owed as much as eight months salary
The governor also challenged the National Working Committee of the party to provide evidence of money released to him to prosecute the last general elections
