UNICEF, in a report: “Generation 2030 Africa 2.0: Prioritising investments in children to reap the demographic dividend,” also said one in every 13 births globally would take place in Nigeria by 2050
“The Generation 2030 Africa 2.0 report” also notes that Africa can reap a demographic dividend that will see per capita incomes increase by up to four-fold by 2050, if policies that promote job growth are made alongside investment in human capital.
It said the 11 million were needed to help the continent cope with a booming population, with the number of children set to increase by 170 million to 750 million in the next 13 years.
