The Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, Karl Toriola, said that the six-month, fully funded fellowship for Nigerian media practitioners was designed to support the sustainable development of the nation’s changing media landscape.
The company began its operation in Nigeria in 2001 and has grown to become leader in the telecommunications sector providing call, data, and mobile money services to Nigerians.
This new development marks MTN Nigeria’s debut in the domestic bond market and makes it the first Nigeria’s telecommunication company to achieve this feat with the Series I bond being the largest corporate bond issuance in the debt capital markets thus far in 2021. The signing ceremony took place at MTN’s corporate head office on Thursday May 6, 2021.
A statement issued by MTN on Tuesday titled, ‘First set of MTN donation of 1.4 million doses of vaccines received by Nigeria’, noted that the MTN Group had contributed $25m for the vaccines, a combination of doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the COVAX facility and from the AU COVID-19 vaccination programme.
Irabor made the call when he received the Chief Executive Officer of Mobile Telecom Network Nigeria, Karl Toriola, who was on a familiarisation visit to the Defence Headquarters on Friday in Abuja.
