The lawmakers said the resignation became necessary following what it described as a “catastrophic institutional failure” in the conduct of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

It made its position known in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja by its Chairman, Emeritus Professor Peter A. Okebukola.
The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, on Wednesday addressed widespread complaints over the 2025 UTME results, admitting that technical errors had affected some candidates’ scores.
Oloyede, while fielding questions from newsmen at a sideline of an event in Abuja on Tuesday, dismissed reports making rounds that the Board spent huge amounts on fumigation, meals, among other items in 2024.
Okebukola said this following the controversy that trailed the 2025 budget of JAMB after Monday’s defence at the National Assembly.
Hee said this in his presentation at the University of Ilorin Lecture Series, titled: “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanities.”
He spoke on Tuesday at the 15th anniversary of 89.3FM, a radio station owned by the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Registrar of JAMB said this in the Nsukka area of Enugu State on Thursday when he delivered a lecture.
The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, will serve as the Chairman of the 2023 Annual General Conference of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers.
A former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Salihu Belgore, and other eminent Nigerians will be at the launch of a book in honour of the registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede.
