The electoral body, the party said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bernard Akoma, rather than step out boldly to perform its constitutional functions of monitoring internal democratic mechanisms of political parties, has pretended in the case of APGA and instead decided to take side with a faction of the party in order to keep the party in perpetual crisis

In a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party
said in spite of recent media reports concerning the antics of some negative forces within INEC over APC’s registration, the emerging party’s leadership has no doubt that in the end, the electoral body will do what is right in accordance with the law

“INEC on Thursday, July 18, 2013, met with national and Anambra State
leaders of registered political parties to brief them on preparations
towards the governorship election. The meeting provided an opportunity to give the stakeholders up-to-date information on the data of voters for Anambra State, the status and spread of the polling units, and the action plan for voter verification and CVR leading up to the governorship election

The team held a closed door meeting with the interim APC officials.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the Interim National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, said its members had proved to INEC that they existed as gentlemen with befitting accommodation
