The panel, presided over by its Chairman, Justice Cornelius Akintayo (retd), recommended the payment of the amount at its resumed sitting in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday.

Inaugurating the panel, the Executive Secretary of NHRC, Tony Ojukwu named retired Justice Suleiman Galadima as chairman, Abdulrahaman Yakubu representing NHRC, representatives of civil society, Dr Lydia Umar and Dr Uju Agomoh.
He stated this in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba on Sunday.
The Executive Secretary of the commission, Tony Ojukwu, disclosed this when he led his team on a courtesy visit to the Chi Limited in Lagos on Wednesday.
The Foundation had earlier reported upsurge in human rights violations and extra-judicial killings by security personnel enforcing the measures put in place to checkmate the spread of COVID-19 in the region.
The report, which covers the period between January 1 and December 31, 2017, warns that the state of emergency has facilitated the deterioration of the human rights situation and the erosion of the rule of law in Turkey, and may “have long-lasting implications on the institutional and socio-economic fabric of Turkey.”
