The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the fuel scarcity had lingered for a week, leaving commuters struggling.
A News Agency of Nigeria correspondent who monitored the situation reported that the fares were increased by between N100 to N150, depending on the route.
The Eagle online correspondent who moved around different locations in Ifako-Ijaiye local government area observed long queues at different gas stations, on Iju road; College road; Ijaiye/Isheri road among others.
The announcement was contained in a statement titled, ‘Public notice: Disruptions in flight operations’, on Monday.
Some transporters made the disclosure in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Monday.

As at Friday, the long queues at many filling stations have not abated.
The gridlock caused by heavy presence of car owners in many filling stations visited in the town, left many commuters stranded.
Some of the motorists, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday in Jos, also alleged that some petrol marketers increased the price of the product.
The marketers expressed worries that failure to settle their claims may lead to scarcity of fuel in the North as the majority of its members ran out of capital, hence could not buy and transport fuel to the region.
