Governor Nyesom Wike, in a statewide broadcast, said the decision to impose the on the entire State was taken after an exhaustive deliberation by the State Security Council at the Government House, Port Harcourt on Thursday.

Funke Egbemode, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation said this in a statement on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Abang, who made the appeal at a press briefing on Wednesday in Calabar on the issue of the kidnap of a second  medical doctor, Godwin Udo, announced that doctors in the state have immediately commenced an indefinite strike pending the unconditional release of their colleague.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who stated this in Yola on Thursday, said that the curfew would be from 8am to 6pm., beginning from October 30.

The hoodlums seized on the curfew imposed by the Lagos State Government in the wake of the violence and looting that engulfed the state in the aftermath of the #EndSARS protests in the country to carry out the attack.

Fintiri declared the curfew in a special broadcast on Sunday, warning that the government will not fold its hands and allow few elements to destabilise the relative peace enjoyed in the state.
