The NUT President, Audu Amba made the call at a workshop on implementation of Global Response to Privatisation and Commercialisation of Education in Abuja on Wednesday.

The union made its position known Wednesday during its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting at the Teachers House, Lugbe, Abuja.
The union called of the strike in a statement jointly signed by the state NUT Chairman and Assistant Secretary, Audu Amba and Adamu Ango respectively and made available to newsmen in Kaduna.
The state NUT Chairman, Audu Amba, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Kaduna on Friday that the affected teachers would “reapply, sit for another examination and if passed, they will be reinstated to their previous positions’’.
Amba said the union had issued a two-week ultimatum to the state government to reverse its decision to disengage 21,780 primary school teachers for failing its competency test.
