The Apex Court on Wednesday dismissed the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on the basis of lacking merit, while ruling that President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress won the February 23, 2019 presidential election and was thus duly elected as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

An Ikeja, Lagos State High Court on Wednesday fixed November 20 to hear the suit filed by former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State against his being probed by the State House of Assembly over the purchase of 820 buses in the Bus Reform Project of his administration.
The former Governor had instituted a suit against the Assembly to contest the constitutionality of the probe of the buses, which were procured based on budgetary approval, as part of the Bus Reform Project of the State Government designed to revolutionise public transportation in line with global best practices
The Assembly issued the fresh invitation via newspaper advertisement on Saturday.

The Lagos State House of Assembly has set up an ad hoc committee to probe the purchase of 820 mass transit buses by the Akinwunmi Ambode-led administration allegedly without budgetary approval.
According to the House, it was important to investigate the purchase of the 820 buses out of the 5,000 buses proposed by Ambode for mass transit in the state, but which was purchased despite objection by the House of Assembly.
