The MoU was signed on behalf of the government by the Permanent Secretary of FMAFS, Temitope Fashedemi, and the President of FGV, Professor Carlos Ivan Simonsen Leal, at FGV Headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

Fayemi, who disclosed this on Wednesday, when he received a delegation of NALDA, led by its Executive Secretary, Prince Paul Ikonne, at the Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, during the team’s working visit to the State, said the main objective of his administration’s agribusiness development is to reposition the state as a major food processing centre in the country.
Dr. Fayemi said the ventures, when fully operational, will provide jobs for more than 500,000 Ekiti people both directly and indirectly, adding that these were parts of efforts aimed at transforming the state from being a civil servant economy to an agric-based industrialised economy.
The governor made this disclosure during a visit to the palace of the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Olabisi, where he met with traditional rulers from Oke Ogun Zone 1, assuring them that his government will continue to do everything possible to develop the state and uplift its people.
The governor stated this while inaugurating the Start Them Early Programme, an initiative of the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture aimed at promoting interest in Agriculture among secondary school students in Oyo State.
