Comic actor, Samuel Ajibola, popularly referred to as Spiff, of the TV series, The Johnsons, has been announced as the host of the upcoming Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Conference scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun State on May 28, 2017.
The conference, which is organised by the Youth Development Centre of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, and tagged: “Youth Governance Dialogue,” seeks to revitalize the active participation of young people in governance through peer and youth-adult dialogue.
It is an annual one-day programme focused on young people, urging them to contribute to the development of the nation through active participation and as well as celebration of the Nigerian Democracy Day, which is held May 29 every year.
Speaking on his selection as host, Ajibola remarked: “I feel honoured. It is quite fulfilling to be a part of an event that is promoting young people’s skills and capacities to participate actively in democratic practices, including in local, national, and global processes society. This would be an avenue to veer our wheels towards progress, and I am so glad to be the pilot of the affair.”
Ajibola will also be joined by other high profile guests, including the Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal; Peace Advocate and Development consultant, Fatimah Kyari Mohammed; and Doctor Eghosa Imaseun, amongst others.
