The Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has spread out his dragnet to unravel the circumstances surrounding the gruesome murder of two lawyers in the state.
The lawyers were killed on their way to a court in Ozoro.
The governor assured members of the Nigerian Bar Association that visited him in the Warri axis of the state on Wednesday that the killers would be apprehended in due time and brought to book.
While presenting four Toyota Hiace buses to each of the NBA branches in the state, the governor said his administration would provide all the logistics support for the security agencies to ensure that the culprits were caught.
Besides, he commiserated with the family of the deceased and the NBA over the unfortunate killing of the two lawyers, promising that the state would get to the root of the matter.
The gesture by the governor fulfills his promise of seven buses for the seven branches of the Nigeria Bar Association in the state; three of the branches have received theirs earlier.
He said that the donation was to enhance the performance of the legal practitioners in the state as well as in appreciation of the harmonious relationship existing between lawyers and the state government.
The keys of the vehicles were formally presented to the chairmen and secretaries of the Sapele, Agbor, Ogwashi-Uku and Oleh branches of the NBA at the Government House Annex, Warri.
Chairman of Oleh branch of the NBA, Barrister Kennedy Uwubiti, speaking on the behalf of others, expressed the gratitude of the legal practitioners to the State Governor for keeping to his promise.
The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Charles Ajuyah, (SAN) had in his opening remarks listed Asaba, Warri and Ughelli branches of the NBA as earlier beneficiaries of the Governor’s kind gesture.
