The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has accredited Skye Bank as one of the selling banks for this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination E-Pins.
The choice of Skye Bank amongst other banks selected for this exercise followed from a resolution reached recently at a stakeholders meeting held among the management of JAMB, Banks, Nigeria Postal Services and Computer Based Test Centres.
Speaking on the development, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, noted that the registration of candidates for the UTME will be for a period of one month as against the previous three months, noting that the former system of three months period was fraught with issues that affect registration of candidates.
According to Dr. Benjamin, “We are ready and will begin the sale of the admission forms from March 20, while the UTME is scheduled to hold in May.
“We have also accredited select Banks in addition to over four hundred Computer Based Test Centers, and they are to sell the E-Pins to applicants across the federation, including FCT Abuja.”
Skye Bank has assured the public, especially applicants, of its readiness to accommodate the purchase requests from the general public, taking advantage of proximity of its retail outlets spread across the country.
A source in the Bank revealed: “Over the years, we have proven our mettle in the sale of JAMB forms; as well as developed a seamless process of ensuring hitch-free service to candidates seeking to procure the forms; we therefore, encourage applicants to walk into any of our branches nationwide to buy the UTME E-Pins.”
About two million candidates are expected to sit for this year’s UTME nationwide and the date for the commencement of sale of the 2017 JAMB/UTME Examination Pins is March 20 and expected to close on March 19, 2017.
