The President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has announced six Standing Committees of the Senate, with Senator Adeola Olamilekan emerging as the Chairman of the Committee on Appropriation.
The announcement of the six Standing Committees was made on Tuesday during the Senate’s plenary session.
According to Akpabio, the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Ali Ndume, was nominated as Vice Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation, while Senator Adaramolu Raphael was appointed as the Senate spokesman.

Others appointed were Senator Titus Zam Tartenger as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and Business, while Senator Opeyemi Bamidele emerged as the Vice Chairman of the committee.
Senator Sunday Karimu is now the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Services, with Senator Williams Eteng Jonah as the Vice Chairman Committee.
The Committee on Code of Conduct and Public Petitions has Senator Okechukwu Ezea as Chairman, while Senator Salihu Ibrahim Mustapha is the Vice Chairman.
Senator Aliyu Barada Mohammed is the Chairman Public Accounts and Senator Onyeka Peter as Vice Chairman of the committee, with Senator Shehu Buba Umar as Chairman Committee on National Security and Intelligence and Sen. Asuquo Ekpeyong Vice Chairman.
The Committee on Legislative Compliance will be chaired by Senator Garba Musa with
Senator Ede Dafionne as Vice Chairman.
