A Senator sacked by the Court of Appeal, Gorge Sekibo, has appended his signature on the report of the Senate Committee on Interior for the 2017 Internally Generated Revenue and Expenditure of the Nigerian Immigration Service.
Sekibo was removed from Senate by Court of Appeal, the final arbiter in the cases of senatorial elections on August 24.
But almost six weeks after his removal from the Senate, Sekibo’s signature was appended on the report of the committee.
Sekibo was the Chairman of the Committee before his sack.
In the report, the committee recommended that N4.6 billion should be approved for the Nigerian Immigration Service 2017 Revenue/Expenditure budget.
The Senate, however, stepped down the report due to the agreement signed with private partners by that NIS.
The private partners were not cleared by the Senate.
In the report, the NIS will spend N193 million to buy ink, N223 million for the purchase of stationery and computer, N152 million for the provision of office furniture and equipment to passport and CEROAC offices.
The agency will spend N10 million to settle rent, N30 million to fuel generator and N20 million to settle electricity bill.
