The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has
congratulated the newly-elected Deputy National Chairman of the party,
Prince Uche Secondus.
The party in a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the
Rivers State Chairman of the party, Jerry Needam, described the
election of Secondus as well deserved and a reward for years of
commitment and loyal service to the PDP.
The party also commended delegates who gave Prince Uche Secondus
overwhelming support and votes.
Jerry Needam said with the long years of service of Prince Uche
Secondus in the PDP and his wealth of experience and fear of God, the
party has no doubt in his ability to deliver.
Needam while reacting to the “purported” faction emerging in the party
and led by the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and others said
“they are bad losers”.
The statement said the factional PDP members want to destroy the party
before they finally dump it to embrace their members and colleagues in
the All Progressives Congress, the Voice of the People and the Peoples
Democratic Movement.
He said further they are cowards and that they should quit completely
and lose any relevance they have politically.
The statement added: “Today we have again been vindicated that all
Amaechi wants is his personal 2015 vice presidential ambition.
“The Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party would resist
any attempt by Amaechi and his cohorts to destroy the PDP.
“In 2009 Amaechi arrested prominent leaders of the party that formed a
factional PDP, we therefore call for the arrest of all those
associated with this shameful act of factionalization in the PDP.”
