The House of representatives on Tuesday passed the bill seeking to establish the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit as an autonomous body.
The bill was presented to the plenary of the House by the Chairman of the Committee on Economic and Financial Crimes, Hon. Kayode Oladele.
The Bill was adopted by members.
It is now ready for assent by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate also on Tuesday adopted the bill after a Conference Committee of both chambers approved it.
It was presented to the Senate by the Chairman of the Committee on Economic and Financial Crimes, Senator Geofrey Chukwuka Utazi.
