A Qatar Airways flight from Doha, Qatar, caused panic in the aviation circle on Saturday morning as it announced midair that its landing gear had developed fault.
This made the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Dr. Harold Demuren, to declare an emergency landing for the Airbus A330 aircraft, information had it.
The aircraft, it was learnt has successfully landed.
There were no casualties.
Airplanes require landing gear for taxiing, takeoff, and landing, according to a definition obtained on Google.
The earliest airplane of all – the Wright Flyer – used skids as its landing gear.
Soon, wheels were attached to the skids.
