Port Harcourt youth movement demands food items, cash from company to celebrate end of year

Executives of the Eligbam Youth Movement, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, have written to a company in their community demanding eight bags of rice, one cow, two gallons of groundnut oil, tomatoes, onions and cash of N200,000 for their end of year activity.

In the letter dated November 12 and shared by one Hon Tega Nze, on Wednesday November 17, the group said the items and cash should not be released without the presence of their president.

The letter reads:

“We the working executive of Eligbam Youth Movement, use the opportunity to thank your management for their understanding and cordial relationship forged with the community in the year 2021.

“In line with the event at the corner, we forward to you our letter for Xmas and the end of the year as we look forward to your response.

“8 bags of rice, one cow for the community, two gallons of groundnut oil, tomatoes, onions and cash of N200,000

“While thanking you for co-operation and understanding, we wish you a happy stay in our peaceful community.

“NB: No item/cash should be released without the presence of the Eligbam Youth president.”

Hon. Nze however criticized the youths. He wrote:

“Are you surprised why companies are moving to Lagos? See what a community that should be fighting for companies to come to their area and create opportunities for people wrote to a small firm.

“The annoying part is that, is coming from the youth body that should be encouraging investment.”
