Police in Niger State have arrested four suspected kidnappers and their marabou.
Police spokesman in the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, made the disclosure in a statement he issued in Minna on Monday.
Abiodun said police operatives arrested one Umar Samaila of Gussasu village via Maikunkele, Bosso Local Government Area, who confessed to being the spiritual leader of bandits hibernating in Niger and Nasarawa States and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
He stated that the suspect would be taken to the FCT Police Command in Abuja for further investigation.
Similarly the police arrested other suspected kidnappers and cattle rustlers on November 16 at Maijaki Forest via Lapai in Niger State and Rafindaji Forest at the boundary between Niger State and the FCT.
Abiodun stated that in Lapai, four suspects were arrested and 40 cows and 15 sheep, all rustled, were found in their possession.
The police spokesman said the suspects would be arraigned soon.
