The Nigeria Police Force has arrested a top-ranking Commander of the Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network in Lagos State.
The suspect, Uchechi Eze, 43, alias Lion Heart, was arrested in Shibiri area of Ojo Local Government Area.
The suspect was also described as the Operational Commander of IPOB/ESN terrorists in the entire acclaimed Biafraland.

Sources told our reporter that the suspect has allegedly confessed to having been the Operational Commander of IPOB/ESN terrorising Imo, Anambra and Ebonyi States.
He also further confessed to having led militia groups that burnt police stations and government facilities and also killed security operatives and members of the All Progressives Congress in the struggle to actualise Biafra Republic and avenge the killing of Ikonso, the IPOB/ESN Zonal Operational Commander.
Lion Heart was arrested on January 17, 2024 at about 7pm.
A source said: “On the date in question, Anti-kidnapping Unit revealed that it received reliable intel and Anti-kidnapping Unit led by a Chief Superintendent of Police, Oladimeji Odeyeyiwa, Commander Anti-kidnapping Unit, went to Shibiri Ojo LG, Lagos State and arrested one Uchechi Eze, aka Lion Heart, 43, from Imo State.
“He is the Operational Commander of IPOB/ESN terrorists in the entire acclaimed Biafraland.
“A search was executed in his hideout at Shibiri Ojo LGA Lagos State and two AK47 rifles, and 60 rounds of live ammunition were recovered.
“He confessed to having been the Operational Commander of IPOB/ESN terrorising Imo State, Anambra State and Ebonyi State, including burning of all police stations, government facilities, killing of Nigeria government securities, including All Progressives Congress members in the struggle to actualise the Biafra Republic and in revenge for the death of notorious late Ikonso, the IPOB/ESN Zonal Operational Commander.
“Investigation is in progress to track down his other fleeing members.”
