Plateau United football Club of Jos on Saturday at the Rwampam Township Stadium in Jos, the Plateau State capital, defeated Kogi United 1-0 to gain promotion to the elite Nigerian Premier Football League.
The match was watched by the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Simon Lalong.
Both teams gave good accounts of themselves.
Speaking shortly after the match, Lalong pledged his administration’s commitment to the completion of the new Jos-Zaria Road stadium.
He expressed satisfaction with the match.
The visiting Kogi United players were not demoralised when Plateau United’s top scorer, John Kim, found the back of the net with less than two minutes into the match.
