PDP welcomes coalition for 2019 election

The National Executive Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has stated that it will lead a strong conversation towards a formal coalition of democratic forces to give Nigeria and Nigerians the much needed “all-inclusive platform” ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The party stated this on Thursday in a statement issued to the press stating the resolutions of the party’s emergency National executive Committee and the party disclosed that its doors remains open to every Nigerian, groups and “like minded political parties”, since the party believes that a coalition of forces is necessary to foster a cohesive unit that will save the country from the misrule of the APC led administration.
The National Executive Committee also frowned at the invasion of the National Assembly which led to the theft of the mace and the disruption of proceedings stressing that it is a direct attack on the sovereignty of the country and her integrity as a democratic nation and it called on the prosecution of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and his accomplice in the act.
It stated that President Buhari could visit the United States of America, which is the home of democracy, whereas back home his administration strangulates opposition voices even within his own party and it vehemently condemn the branding of Nigerian youths as lazy stating that describing the youths as lazy is an injury on their sensibilities.
It further enjoined the youths, who it described as “resourceful and agile” to team up with the PDP to vote out the APC and it also enjoined the National Working Committee to commence action for the establishment of a shadow cabinet to lead the party’s roadmap towards national economic recovery and good governance which is in accordance to the yearnings of Nigerians.
