The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Ikon, has won the House of Representatives ticket for Etinan Federal Constituency.
Ikon defeated the incumbent member representing the constituency, Hon. Dan Akpan, by 79 votes to seven.
Commenting, Ikon praised the party faithful for the peaceful conduct of the primary, just as he urged all members to work together for the success of the party in the general elections.
Results of the primaries for other seats were still being awaited as of the time of filing this report.
