The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party had urged the party’s chairmen in the states to study the Strategy Review and Inter-Party Affairs Committee’s report for quick approval.
The Chairman of the Board, Senator Walid Jibrin, made the call on Wednesday in Abuja when he received the leadership of Forum of PDP States Chairmen.
The Strategy Review and Inter-Party Affairs Committee, headed by Prof. Jerry Gana, was inaugurated on November 10, 2016, with a mandate to recommend ways to make the party stronger.
It was also mandated to work out strategies to ensure that the party regained power in 2019. It submitted its report on Wednesday.
Jibrin said that the forum as a critical organ of PDP and had a role to play in the approval and implementation of the report.
Jibrin said: “We have today received a report of the Jerry Gana-led committee’s report which has far-reaching recommendations.
“We have resolved that we are going to resume work to fast-track the implementation.
“I want to appeal to you that since you are members of this committee, you should carefully study it so that when the time comes we will not waste time for its endorsement.”
The Chairman of the forum, Paul Ekpo, said their visit to the BoT was in appreciation of its contributions to the party and assured it of the group’s support.
He pledged that the state chairmen of the party would do their best to ensuring that PDP won the states in future elections.
Ekpo said: “We have resolved as chairmen to go back to our respective states to reinvigorate and re-strategize to make the party strong again ahead of 2019 general elections.”
